Helpdesk Technician working on your IT support tickets, Matt, has been working at Ingenio Tech for 5 years. He’s an important and valued member of the team, and we have nothing but good to say about him. Let’s see what he has to say…
What does a normal day as an IT helpdesk technician at Ingenio Tech look like for you?
At my 8 am start, I’ll check the board to see if any issues have come in overnight or if any servers are offline etc. If something is wrong, I will investigate it and assign it as needed. I usually allow the first hour of the day for this. I’ll work to resolve any errors before our clients open for business at 9 am.
In the afternoon I’ll book in any internal projects that need to be completed and at the end of the day I will be following up on tickets I’ve been working on during the day and close them.
What’s your favourite part of your work?
I enjoy cases that are unique – I enjoy a challenge. It gives me personal satisfaction and can put me out of my comfort zone resulting in my growth.
What do you like about working at Ingenio Tech?
It’s a fun family atmosphere here. It’s nice to be part of a team… you get satisfaction knowing that everyone is working together. We work well and have fun along the way.
Are there any memorable cases that you enjoy?
I really enjoyed going to meet a new client I haven’t met before recently. They have just taken us on board as their IT support and claimed they have had a slow server for several years now. Their previous IT company could not fix it. I took a look and discovered that the server was plugged into a slow network port. A very simple solution to such an irritating issue!
What do you do outside of work?
I’m part of a local performance group in Uckfield, where I play the snare. Been doing that since I was 14. We travel around the country for competitions. We’ve even competed in the European Circuit. We’re currently going to take part in the Marsden March 2017. Find out more here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/LCmarsdenmarch17
What 3 objects would you take with you on a desert island?
Knife, wind up radio, a solar powered fridge.
You’re a new addition of the crayon box. What colour would you be and why?
A mix between blue and green, like a turquoise colour. It represents the methodical and calm approach to my working and thinking patterns.
Thanks Matt!!
