Microsoft has made some changes to the pricing on their Microsoft 365 suite of products. Here are some frequently asked questions about NCE...

Q. What is the New Commerce Experience (NCE)?

Microsoft’s New Commerce Experience (NCE) will soon be the platform Ingenio use to provision your office licensing.

 

Q. How much extra will I have to pay if I pay monthly?

20% more than the annual amount. We’ll contact you with the exact pricing for the licenses you purchase.

 

Q. Can I downgrade licenses on a monthly plan?

Yes! Microsoft allow this because you’re paying an extra 20%

 

Q. Can I cancel licenses if I’m on an annual plan?

You have 72 hours to cancel a license from point of purchase. After this, you have to commit to a year.

 

Q. Can I downsize or downgrade licenses if I’m on an annual plan?

No, you cannot downsize your plan under any circumstances.

 

Q. I hire seasonal workers, I don’t want to pay for a full year!

You don’t have to. You can put your core team on an annual plan and seasonal workers on monthly licenses, then hand back the monthly licenses when you stop needing them.

 

Q. A member of staff didn’t make it past our probation period, can I cancel the license?

If they are on a monthly license, then you can cancel. If they are on an annual license, then you cannot cancel before the end of the 12-month commitment. 

 

Q. how does this affect me

The biggest change you’ll notice is that you have to commit to a set amount of licenses per year. This means that you cannot decrease your licenses that you purchased at the start of the term.  Please read our letter

 

Q. I have a 36-month support contract with Ingenio, do the Microsoft changes have any impact on this?

The short answer is no. Your Office 365 subscription is completely separate.
